Benicia is a terrific place to live and raise a family. I'm running to keep it that way. I want to continue to protect Benicia from sprawl, unwanted development, and ensure we have enough police and fire protection to keep our neighborhoods safe, maintain excellent schools, and continue to keep petty politics out of City government. I want to get back to basics.
I have been meeting with citizens, local leaders and community groups, seeking their input on important local issues and asking for their support for my candidacy. The response has been over-whelmingly positive and I am humbled by the broad coalition of Benicia residents supporting me. I will keep you abreast of new endorsements as I receive them.
Building blocks are the basic components that make Benicia such a desirable place to live. These include Fiscal Stability, Terrific Schools, Safe Neighborhoods and Quality of Life. As your next Mayor I pledge to continue to strengthen our building blocks over the next four years. I realize, of course, that hundreds of folks throughout Benicia volunteer their time to help strengthen our community. They are the cement that holds the blocks together. They do the hard work it takes to turn a City into a hometown. Thanks to all of you.
Alan
